Hey ladies!

I was wondering if you were considering having a stamping subcommunity. I realize this is something you might want to wait a little while to add the community and that's legit, however, I do think it might help amp up participation here when/if you add it and here's why.

1)I don't there's a really active character stamping comm for the Kushielverse. No one has been stamped in Jules' and it's been over a year, plus hers only includes characters from Phedre's trilogy. I think there's a need. People who have been sorted can easily get into stamping, even if they've never been in a sorting comm and don't know how to participate, (it's a pretty easy progression from just being sorted) but with the game and points it can actually stay active and people can get stamped. I personally find myself much more into stamping when it's in a community.

2) A possible Night Court theme! I'm gonna be honest here, I was a little disappointed to at first to realize this wasn't a night court stamping comm and it took/is taking weeks for me to convince my friend to join when she realized it was houses, not night court) though after thinking about it, I think you were right to choose houses, they're broader and sexual preference does not=personality. Still the night court is more well known than the houses in this series so it could be a fun side thing that would have attraction for a lot of the members. I understand there's already a community for that but I really don't see why we can't add it here. As I said earlier, stamping comms within sorting comms are much more likely to stay active and there are always doubles.

3.Okay, I'll say it. Mirror theme! Everyone in Kushielverse is gorgeous, ergo everyone gets flattered by their stamp...win/win.

Hope this wasn't too annoying but I figure you guys know me and this can be taken with a grain of salt I don't think you need to do what I say or the comm isn't great as it is just wanted to put my idea out there.

<3

We'll get back to you on the other stuff but um like... night_court?

Yeah I know there's already a night court comm but does that mean you guys can't have a night court theme? I don't really understand why it does. There are about fifty million Harry Potter character communities and people get sorted in all of them. Also, I personally have been lost interest in stamping only communities. I find myself much more likely to stamp if I have the added incentive of game points, know the people being stamped and am comfortable in the community. Maybe that's just me...but I honestly don't get why there can't be more than one night court stamping on the internet. It's fine if that your guys view I'm just saying what I would want and I'm sorry if that came off as judgemental or something. Honestly, I'm not really in the Kushiel fandom and so this was like "well I've read Kushiel, I'll join" and then I was like "what are these houses I don't remember them, faaail." I don't think you should change your community by any means, but if you ever made a stamping comm and had a night court theme I think you'd get a lot of enthusiasm.

Hope I'm being clear.

I'm not ruling out the possibility ever. I just missed the second half of your paragraph, so I was like "hey, might as well point her in the direction of something she would like to do."

Oh just noticed the second half of that paragraph. Carry on, carry on.

NP, you got me to look at that comm and it does seem to have a lot of members. I can't tell if it's active or not cause it seems locked but if you don't do this I may one day join there. At the very least maybe get them to affliate with you so as to attract more people? But uuhhh, definitely still think there can be more than one stamping comm on the same subject but I get why you guys might not be comfortable with that, especially seeing how many members that comm has.

Heh you're not coming across as aggressive! The only thing that's making me slightly head-tilty is you repeating that there can be multiple stamping comms of the same theme. And that's just because I've never said you can't, I was just pointing out a comm that already did (because I skimmed through the last few sentences, woops!) But hey, you can't read my mind and know I'm amenable to the idea based on my short responses here thus far.

Jenna and I talked about the idea when we were first setting up the comm, and have decided that if we do it (which we likely will), it's going to be in game 2* for several reasons.

1. At the moment there are only two mods, and if stamping is going to be popular as you say that ultimate means EVEN MOAR POINTS COUNTING.
2. The comm is about being sorted, but also about canon discussion and a lot of other things that have nothing to do with stamping. Buuut we also have activities planned for to appeal to one's vanity. :P Right now, with the comm still in its earliest stages, we're trying to get a variety of types of activities going without it turning into all stamping, all the time.
3. In general we're pretty okay with the pace at which the comm is growing.

*Our games are only four months, by the way, so you wouldn't have to wait that long.

Your reasons make a lot of sense! The community did just get started after all. I need to be patient. *sits on hands*

Thanks for listening to my rambling in any case. I think I was just afraid of that response so I got defensive.

Nahhh. I tend to mimic the speech patterns of people I talk to, and I like your style of blending formal and informal* so I was like LALALA SUPER SHORT RESPONSE SHE'LL UNDERSTAND. idek.

*it's very similar to mine. This is why we're in Mereliot.

4. Also, also, quite conversely I've had a number of people tell me that they're glad the comm isn't night court based/that it focuses on other areas of the series. So I'm happy with the niche we fill. XD
